Hey guys! (^w^)/ Today's review is of Bakuman! :D
Bakuman is an anime and a manga written by Tsugumi Ohba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata. These two also made the sucsess of a manga called "Death Note". The Bakuman anime has three 25 episodes, the manga has 20 volumes and in 2015 there will be a live action movie written by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata and directed by Hitoshi One who also directed "Vampire Host" and "Be my baby"
Bakuman is a manga about a talented artist called Moritaka Mashiro who is in love with a girl in his class, Azuki Miho. A classmate called Akito Takagi tries to convince Mashiro to draw the art of a manga he will be writing. Mashiro refuses at first but accepts when he hears that Miho is aspiring to become a voice actress. As a slip of the tounge, Mashiro proposes to Miho saying that when their manga gets an anime, she can be the voice actress for the herione. It is revealed that Miho also had feelings for Mashiro, and she accepts his proposal, but with one catch: They can't meet each other until that time comes. From then, the story is a journey with Mashiro and Takagi to become number one.
This manga/anime shows very well how the manga industry works and how difficult it actually is. We don't really think about it a lot, but manga artists spend all their time on making us happy. For example, Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece, sleeps three hours every day to please us!
I can't say the characters were very special or original, but I guess that's a part of it's charm. It's a story about two normal guys, so of course they wouldn't have the unique characters like in One Piece. That's how real people are! The characters with the most original and particular personalities are all side characters. The anime did a great job on making it realistic. The colorschemes weren't very special. The music was good, but there is nothing in particular about it that I remember, it was just about standard. Finally, I must mention the awesome humor that actually made me laugh out loud at times.
I think Bakuman is a really great anime/manga, and it's definetly recommended.
