Sailor Moon Crystal episode 1 reaction!

Hello! So, I was thinking about doing one of my usual reviews for today, but I remembered that yesterday was the day we would get to see our first Magical Girl anime, Sailor Moon, all over again- just better! As I obviously can't make a review of an anime with only one episode, here's a collection of pretty much all my thoughts while I was watching this!

Keep in mind that as I was a child, Sailor Moon never got a particular mention, and it wasn't even slightly part of my childhood. I still have not seen the anime nor have I read the whole manga, though I have read a little part of the first one. Also, a quick mention that, I love the magical girl genre- in fact, the three first animes I ever completed were all magical girl animes (Tokyo Mew Mew, Mermaid Melody and Cardcaptor Sakura!).

Yup called it!

Who the hell sleeps with that many ribbons in their hair!? Not to mention the hairstyle she absolutely NEEDS to have while being asleep...

Why do you choose to have such a complicated hairstyle, if you already know you're late, Usagi!?

Usagi's mother: "I wish she could learn from Sailor V..."

I absolutely love this opening. It's catchy, and has this awesome mix of old and nostalgic and new and modern. Just like the show!

Why do you choose to cuddle with a cat you found on the street, if you already know you're late, USAGIII!?

Judging from the dark colors, the creepy way you summoned that...thing and the fact that you basically called yourself evil, I think I can establish that these people may be... the bad guys...maybe...

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!! This is the most cliché thing I've seen in years! Love at first sight with an awkward silence stare AND the freaking colorbubbles and flowers! WOW! *slow clap*

Usagi's mother is not only comparing her own daughter with Sailor V, but also not letting her come inside the house with bad grades!
Aaaand the "Best parent price" goes tooo......

I love how the transformation sequence is pretty much the same as before- with better quality.
The animation in this is crazy!

Usagi seems awfully fine with the transformation compared to the original anime, where she was freaking out! O.o
Also, wasn't a part of the point of a transformation so that their identities won't be obvious? YOU LOOK LIKE THE SAME PERSON!

Well, that's not disturbing at all...

I'm amazed at how quickly she can make up catch-phrases O.O

"Tuxedo Mask" Great naming sense you have there, dude.
And again! Your identity is obvious even if you put on that mask!

And if I remember correctly, didn't he carry Usagi bridal style in the manga? Way to go with removing the gentleman points...
